The Lancaster EMS Field Provider is a certified paramedic whose priority is to respond to low acuity 911 dispatches, but is also capable of providing advanced emergency care should the patient’s condition warrant.

The Field Provider is able to offer alternative destinations or community resources if the emergency department is determined not to be needed. This program also helps address social determinants of health and identifies barriers that may be affecting the patient.

The program allows for non-emergent calls to be addressed in a more appropriate, expedient, and efficient way for the patient by offering immediate help while releasing the EMS resources needed for more emergent 911 calls.

Our Field Provider may contact your office directly to arrange appointments and/or address the patient’s plan of care all while with the patient.
